01 Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Steak Timer ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms apply to the Steak Timer application distributed through Google Play.
02 Use of the App
Steak Timer is a cooking timer utility designed to assist users with timing steak preparation. The app provides suggested cooking times based on user-inputted variables including cut type, thickness, and cooking method.
⚠️ Important: Cooking times provided by the app are suggestions based on general culinary guidelines. Actual cook times vary significantly based on your specific equipment, heat source, meat density, and other factors. Always use a meat thermometer to verify internal temperature for food safety.
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not misuse, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
03 Subscription — Steak Timer Pro
The App offers a paid subscription ("Steak Timer Pro") that removes all advertisements. Subscription details:
- Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Google Play account settings after purchase
- Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policies. We do not guarantee refunds for unused subscription periods
- The free tier of the App (core timer functionality) remains available regardless of subscription status
- To cancel on Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Steak Timer → Cancel
04 Restoring Purchases
If you reinstall the App or switch devices, your Pro subscription can be restored using your Google Play account. No Steak Timer account is required — your subscription is tied to your Google Play account, not the device.
05 Disclaimer of Liability
The cooking times and guidance provided by Steak Timer are for informational and convenience purposes only. Akshat Pandey makes no representations or warranties that:
- The cooking times will produce a specific doneness outcome on your specific equipment
- The App is suitable as the sole method to determine food safety (always use a thermometer)
- The App will be available uninterrupted or error-free at all times
Steak Timer is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Cooking times are estimates only, and users should always verify food safety using a meat thermometer and their own judgment.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Akshat Pandey shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the App, including but not limited to improperly cooked food, property damage, or personal injury.
06 Intellectual Property
All content within the App — including but not limited to the name "Steak Timer," the app design, icons, animations, timer algorithms, and written content — is the intellectual property of Akshat Pandey and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the App.
07 Third-Party Services
The App integrates third-party services including Google AdMob (advertising) and Google Play Services (essential Android services). Subscription purchases, when available, are processed through Google Play Billing. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party providers.
08 Google Play Terms
These Terms are between you and Akshat Pandey and govern your use of Steak Timer. Subscription purchases and payments are processed through Google Play and are also subject to Google's own terms, policies, and billing rules. In the event of any conflict, Google Play policies will prevail.
09 Changes to the App and Terms
Akshat Pandey reserves the right to modify, update, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
10 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
